Just don't expect to be greeted warmly by most of the sales clerks, or anyone who's standing in line behind you waiting to pay. (There was a seemingly impatient woman/tourette's sufferer who, right after the cashier said it, kept blurting out, "Next!" while waiting in line directly behind me. It was like hearing an unpleasant echo.) Of course, I'm not going there for any "feel good" moments, just a deal on wool socks. Filene's can be found on Broadway at 79th Street.
