Dear Bea, I looked at these street photographs and the ones in your previous posting and I can see what the genre is now. It truly is a slice of life at any given moment at any given setting. And the truth for me is that I so often pass by life happening and am so absorbed in my own thoughts that I miss the other humans who are in the same space with me. Thank you. Peace.
Yes, I think it is 'slice of life' moments that mark street photography. There are also other rules of engagement, so to speak, but as an armchair photog, I just shoot what I feel like shooting.
Your comment resonates in that I, too, have been guilty of not being in the moment, not appreciating what is around me. It's good to take in what's immediately around us---people, landscapes, etc.
It's a great reminder to pause and look around at enjoy life all around us. I am guilty of it big time. When I do remember to look, I enjoy staring up at the clouds, stars and sky.
Love your street scenes, and am imagining lots of stories to be told...
ReplyDeleteThanks, E.C.! And, yes, I think some of these photos would make especially good prompts.

ReplyDeleteI may have got that completely wrong so had better delete it.
DeleteUnderstood.
DeleteThanks Bea. A totally misjudged and unacceptable attempt at humour.
DeleteWe've certainly all been there.
DeleteMy fave is "sunset selfie" -- it's those shoes!!!
ReplyDeleteThey're mine. :)
DeleteNice...I like that series of photos
ReplyDeleteThank you kindly!
DeleteYou are way good, Bea. Go take a look at HumansofNewYork, if you're not familiar already.
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of images that didn't make the cut, let me tell ya! I dig HumansofNewYork. Thanks for the reminder to revisit that site.
DeleteThose are great slices of life.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Liz!
