Goodbye, Snow!

Well, if not 'goodbye', then certainly, 'farewell'!  Last year's winter saw two days of light snow.  -just two days.  I hardly wore gloves or a scarf and was able to ride my bike consistently throughout the months of January, February and March.  It was what I would call a 'Bay Area winter'.  So nice it was, really, all around.  This winter has started out completely different.  Today, marks the third day of mostly constant snow fall.  I love looking at snow, say, through a window, or briefly through a camera lens, but I don't like having to navigate my way through it.  I haven't really left the house in 72 hours save for a couple of trips to the store.  A girl needs milk for her hot cocoa, after all!

Come the new year I'll be back in sunny California.  There will be no snow as far as the eye can see and I'll be glad.  Snow is nice to look at, but I have a hard time living with the stuff.

Have a gander at today's snowy bounty:

Take a seat!

Outside my door.

Keeping the trams running.

  1. Gah, that makes me cold just looking at it. We haven't seen any snow, as of yet. For that I am thankful, I don't want to see any snow this year either. How exciting to be coming back to the states?! Stay warm my friend!

    1. Yes, snow is not really my friend. I first ventured out on a walk around the block. It was the longest walk of my life as I took the smallest, most overly-labored steps...didn't want to fall on my backside. I'm excited to come home and, weirdly scared. :S

    2. I agree, falling is terrible. But falling in the ice and snow, it's somehow intensified and really sucks! I'm so all over the place, I don't know if you've mentioned the last time you came to the states, but I bet that would be a bit scary :) Safe travels my friend!
