Rancho Arroyo



Our junior high school, Rancho Arroyo, had a sort of selection of stapled together hand-outs that acted as our school newsletter. Horoscopes, included in the hand-outs, were doled out yearly. Yesterday, I was looking through old papers and found one such newsletter with horoscope. My star sign is Cancer. The attendant notation is mine. I hadn't seen this jr high gem in decades, and burst out laughing when I did. I was either 11 or 12 when I wrote the above notation. I was a salty kid living in a tough neighborhood during this time. -out of the pens of babes...

    1. Oh, EC, If I were a better writer, then you would have known that the only thing written by me was that crude comment in the margin. Sorry about the confusion. x

    2. I knew that - it was your handwriting I was referring to. At 14 mine was not so well formed, and it is worse now.

    3. Oh! Haha! Got it, thank you. My handwriting looks so very different know. I barely write in cursive anymore either. Did you know that school children here no longer learn the art of cursive in school? How will they be able to read what others in previous decades have handwritten?

  3. Were these written by kiddos your age? Because, it sounds like the advice 12-year-olds would give each other.

    (Middle schoolers are still obsessed with Astrology. It's amazing how often the topic comes up.)
