Foreman McFurry |
We did a job the other day with a rather attentive house cat following our every move. He jumped from window to window, eyes following cleaning brushes, ladders being raised and boots moving up and away.
'Little Library' |
These free standing book cubbies, aka Little Libraries, can be found all over the Bay Area (and beyond, I'd guess). Book lovers are welcome to both take and leave books as they see fit.
I spied this particular Little Library out along the path to Mori Pt. in my hometown. If you 'embiggen' (thanks, EC!) the image, then you're able to better see the offerings. If I didn't know any better, then I would say that this photo might make for a good writing prompt!
The Dahlia Garden at the Conservatory is back in bloom this year. I was there recently to snap some photos. -can't get enough of the variety of flower shapes, sizes and colors!
Love the furry foreman.
ReplyDeleteAnd the dahlias. They come in so many shapes and colours I never tire of them.
We have a couple of those libraries here. I hope they spread.
Good to hear that the wee libraries are global!
DeleteThat cat was a total charmer. :)
Lovely cat and nice colourful dahlia's!
ReplyDeleteThe little libraries are seen very often, also in our area. I am not sure if they are a great success, but I like the idea.
I always try to sell my books or bring them to a thrift store.
I like the idea, too. There's one very close to where I live, but I never seem to rememeber to drop off my old books there!
DeleteYou can't even give books away these days.
ReplyDeleteNor can you give away American Democracy these days, but somebody tried!
DeleteI can enter Ohio in the Little Library collection. I've seen them in restaurants, and, of course, coffee shops.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun cat to have supervising your job!
Glad OH has 'em, too. The cat was very lively.
Deletefree books are good especially if you leave some yourself. I am back buying books, I wish I had access to free ones too.
ReplyDeleteLove cats, nosy creatures, but my dog wouldn’t allow me to have one.
I also love dahlias, some of last year’s died over winter, although I dig them up and put them in boxes with dry compost in the garage. So I went out and bought some lovely new ones Should have done it years ago, it’s nice to have different colours for a change.
Oh, the dahlias and their many colors are a wonder. -glad you've purchased some new ones for your garden.
DeleteSo, I guess the Lil' Libraries scheme has not yet hit your area? It's nice to have them around.
Those little libraries are popping up everywhere. Pretty flowers.
ReplyDeleteI went back for a walk & someone had the taken American Democracy book from the cubby. May they do something good with it!
