Y&T

-waiting for the bus in downtown SF yesterday. The picture makes it sort of seem that downtown is fairly quiet, but it is anything but.

Today, I took this shot of a groovy flowering tree by the supermarket I frequent. I saw the fly & wondered if the blossom would smell of dung. It did not. Maybe the fly is just taking a load off?!
-still probably a pollinator, I'd wager.

  1. Almost certainly a pollinator. Perhaps not the 'preferred' one, but if it gets the job done...

  2. What a delightful flower - not one I recognise.

    1. I asked around and was told its common name is a flannel bush. It's native to this area as well!

  3. I've never seen that plant either, but I do love the California poppies in your header. It does look quiet downtown.

    1. The header is fun. It's a shot showing the area of town in which I grew up. It's called Linda Mar.

  4. If I go to San Fransisco I'll be sure to wear that flower in my hair.

  5. Speaking of San Francisco, my uncle (who lives in Windsor) shared a t-shirt that you might enjoy: https://cottonbureau.com/products/intersections-of-san-francisco

It's always a bit freaky to find a usually busy street empty. Even if just for a moment or two.

  6. Dear Bea, I've been to San Francisco only once--way back in about 1982. I attended a meeting there and so saw little. Your downtown photo makes me want to go back for a real visit! thank you. Peace.

    1. It's much more crowded than in '82, but still worth a look-see.
